Design System Creation & Direction
With four design teams and five development teams on an agile release train, the need for consistency and clarity with design direction was vital. The design system was created to minimize design debt from one team to the next and provide a repository that enables teams to reuse design and code and streamline the development process. The design system incorporated existing brand guidelines, while building within Salesforce standards.

Process
Outline & Information Architecture
With a cross-comparison of the existing brand guidelines and Salesforce Lightning design system, I led and managed the creation of the information architecture of components needed to consolidate design elements and patterns into a uniform singular library for the portal. Templates and instructions for each page were produced for the team, as I managed and reviewed the pages from design to release. The goal of each page was to include what designers and developers would need to know when using and building the component, ensuring consistency across all features.
Acceptance Criteria & Governance
Each component page included written descriptions of the component, how to use it, general rules and use cases, related components that fall into category, general specifications including placement, responsiveness, spacing, size variations, interactive states, and 508 accessibility.
Shareable exports created in Sketch for InVision, Abstract, and Jira.
